Behavior Assesment

Behavior Assessment

A Behavior Assessment in ABA therapy is a comprehensive evaluation that identifies the underlying causes of specific behaviors and guides the development of individualized, evidence-based intervention plans to promote positive change.

Behavior Assessment

A behavior assessment in ABA therapy involves systematically observing and documenting an individual’s behaviors to identify patterns, triggers, and potential functions of a specific behavior, allowing for the development of targeted interventions based on the “antecedent-behavior-consequence” (ABC) model, ultimately aiming to increase desired behaviors and decrease problematic ones.

Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)

Is a systematic approach to understanding the underlying causes of specific behaviors by identifying maintaining variables, social and environmental factors, and the circumstances in which behaviors occur or do not occur. Conducted by skilled and trained professionals, FBA relies on precise data collection to create tailored intervention plans aimed at addressing challenging behaviors effectively.

At SpaceKids Therapy Center, data collection is a cornerstone of our ABA programs. Using a cutting-edge digital platform, we collect data in real time, allowing for seamless communication between caregivers, therapists, and analysts. This ensures that everyone involved is informed about your child’s progress. We present this data in a clear, understandable format, regularly reviewing it with you to discuss progress and make program adjustments. These modifications are designed to maximize your child’s potential and promote rapid progress toward their goals.

For many children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, social skills can be a significant area of challenge. Difficulties in understanding and responding to social cues often make social interactions confusing and awkward. At SpaceKids, our social skills training includes everything from teaching eye contact and greetings to recognizing emotions and internal states. We also focus on general social rules like politeness and appropriate behavior across different environments. Mastering these skills is essential, as they impact the ability to form friendships, engage with peers, and integrate into society, fostering confidence and meaningful connections.
